RiverNET is the leading software that incorporates HEC-RAS and HEC-2 in AutoCAD. It includes a range of features and capabilities that automates HEC-RAS modeling tasks. Automatic cross section cutting, mapping of roughness values and bank station locations, floodplain mapping, floodway determination, bridges, culverts, and more. RiverNET is used by over 2,500 organizations worldwide.

RiverNET HEC-RAS Training Video Tutorials

RiverNET is easy to learn and use. Our online training video tutorials allow you
to quickly get up to speed doing HEC-RAS and HEC-2 projects within AutoCAD using RiverNET. Our engineering staff will train you how to proficiently use RiverNET for a variety of river modeling tasks.

  • Cutting and creating cross sections from 2D and 3D contours,
TINs, DTMs, DEMs, LIDAR, AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces,
survey point data, surveyed cross sections, and other digital
    terrain data
  • Defining overbank station locations, flow distances, ineffective
flow areas, levee stations, Manning’s roughness sub-areas,
    and other modeling data
  • Importing and exporting HEC-RAS and HEC-2 data, ready for
    agency submittal
  • Automation of repetitive hydraulic engineering tasks using
    AutoCAD and RiverNET
  • Automated generation of floodplain and floodway mapping,
base flood water surface elevation (BFE) contours, flow depth
contours, cross section plots, and profile plots
  • Modeling of bridges, culverts, multiple openings, spillways,
    levees, bridge scour, and more
  • HEC-RAS model review and troubleshooting

For design engineers, project managers, and flood plain managers of all experience levels, these training videos tutorials help you to quickly learn how to use RiverNET—providing a comprehensive overview of RiverNET’s features and capabilities.

Easy Model Development

RiverNET makes it easy to develop new HEC-RAS model, or to review an existing HEC-RAS model. AutoCAD users can use RiverNET with their existing AutoCAD drawings—quickly cutting cross sections from 2D and 3D contours, TINs, DTMs, DEM data, LIDAR data, survey point data, surveyed cross sections, existing
HEC-RAS and HEC-2 data, and other digital terrain data. Bank station locations, flow distances, ineffective flow areas, levee stations, Manning’s roughness
sub-areas, and other modeling data can be quickly extracted from the drawing.
The HEC-RAS (and HEC-2) model runs directly within the AutoCAD environment, and the computed analysis results are displayed directly in the AutoCAD drawing. Floodplain and floodway mapping, base flood water surface elevation (BFE) contours, flow depth contours, cross section plots, and profile plots can be displayed in the AutoCAD drawing, quickly plotting the model results for the engineer. The completed HEC-RAS (or HEC-2) model can then be exported
for agency submittal.
